My Review

  "I'm a lush, ice cream bloated, reality television watcher and for the first time in my life, I've been stood up."
This book was something else entirely. I totally wasn't expecting any of it. 

So Kate is a 42 year old mom of two who is married to a lawyer. Her husband is very rarely home, so I have a feeling that had to do with some of the problem. One day on the way to taking her daughters to dance she is running late…while passing the park and her shirt has slipped up a little she gets a comment from the group of guys at the park. Saying "Nice Tattoo" She is planning on saying something smart back to the guys, but when she makes eye contact with the person who says it she is speechless. All she can do is stare at his beauty!? She gets her daughters to dance and when they leave the guy is waiting for her. At first I was like ummm this is pretty creepy. Run lady Run! Regardless of how I felt though Kate had other plans and let her daughter play at the park where the guys were at before. This stranger picks up her daughter and puts her on the swing. Me being a mother myself, that sent red flags up to me. I was becoming very hesitant about the situation. He parted right after though with the comments "You deserve better." This of course left her questioning everything. She felt this instant connection with the boy. 

" I've gone from being always trapped inside my head to feeling completely liberated in my physical self in a matter of weeks." 

Since the day she met the guy she couldn't get him out of her mind. Her sex life with her husband has improved dramatically, thanks to the guy. Her husband is loving the new her. Now she ends up running into the guy again, and invites him to her house. WHAT!? I know. Things are pretty crazy. I won't go into more, because I don't want to spoil or give things away. Just know that from there it just gets crazier! 

Is it a good crazy or bad crazy you might ask…to be honest I still don't know how I feel. I want to say hey it's a good crazy, but at the same time I'm hesitant. White does an amazing job at writing something i've never read before. I had some issues with Kate and her decisions, but hey I wasn't in her situation. Granted, even if I was in her situation I don't think I would of acted like she did. 

" Is that what our relationship is based on now? Instead of mutual trust and respect, now we're down to spying and keeping?"

Your mind will be blown, your jaw will be on the floor, and you'll be flipping pages faster than you've flipped before. I just had to figure out what happened. 

So if you haven't already #1clickthatbitch :) 

I rate Heights of Desire 4 out of 5 stars. 

" You're the one writing this story, Kate. You just have to decide if it's a story where love triumphs and perseveres. Or is it going to be a tragedy where love ends in broken hearts and destruction? Only you know the outcome."
