MY REVIEW

I received an ARC of The Good Enough Husband in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest I will say Sylvie Fox delivers a riveting story. More like a roller coaster of emotions. I have no idea how I feel at the moment. I'm filled with mixed emotions.

One, in my opinion, Hannah shouldn't of gotten married to her husband Michael in the first place. Especially since she wasn't in love with him, but rather did it because both of them were friends and came to an agreement. Years later, Hannah wakes up and just isn't happy. So she packs some bags, packs up her dog Cody, and heads to Oregon where she is going to stay at a resort. Although, that's the plan…Cody ends up getting sick. So Hannah stops in some small town called the Lost Coast at a vet's office in hopes the doc can help figure out what's wrong with Cody. Diagnosis: Car sickness.

What she never expected was to fall for this man. It happens. She stays in the Lost Coast for 2 weeks before heading back to her life with Michael in the O.C. Here is where things get tricky for me. She angers me because she didn't tell Ben the truth about her marriage. So he has expectations about their relationship that she just might not be able to give him. Although she isn't happy with Michael and her being home with him is showing him that she finds herself daydreaming of Ben. Wishing she was back in the Lost Coast. Finally she works up enough nerve to say she wants a divorce and she leaves.

She goes back to Ben, but everything isn't all peachy when she returns. Drama. Drama. Drama.

Want to find out what happens, pick it up and read for yourself.

I had some issues with Fox's descriptions about things. This being one of them:

" Ben came back, cleaned up, his flaccid penis no less impressive as it lay against its nest of chestnut brown hair."

Yes, to others that might now bother you, but for me it made me cringe. I then got the picture his penis was laying in a birds nest made from his chestnut brown pubic hair. *sigh* That's one of my only complaints. That and her use of calling Hannah's vagina "her sex!" No! No! No!

I rate The Good Enough Husband 4 stars.

About the Author

I write the kinds of books I love to read. The quirky characters in my romance novels experience passion, angst, and conflict, but always get their "happily ever after." I live in Los Angeles with my husband, son, and a handful of rescued pets. When I'm not hanging out in Hollywood, I'm eating my way through Budapest.
