(My Review)
Holy craptastic amazeballs covered in chocolate sauce!!!! Amazing. Just amazing. If you couldn't tell already, I absolutely LOVED it! It's been awhile since I have been able to read a book with such ease. Not dreading another chapter, wishing it was over already. No, I was hooked from the beginning and hoping it would never end! Why did it have to end?
I was not only on the edge of my seat the whole time, turning page after page, but I was totally engrossed in the book I didn't realize the hours flew by and it was WAYYYYYYYY past my bedtime. Lol. There was no going to bed until this bad boy was finished. I laughed, gasped in surprise, did a bunch of "OMG" and "Fuck." I shook my head from all the crazy banter, fanned myself from all the hotness, but most importantly I fell in love with every single character and their story. Geez. I am absolutely floored by how well it was written, but most importantly by how much it made me feel. I really hope Smith comes out with more of their story, possibly while giving us Grady and Bailey's story!?? Hmm hmmm…maybe. Lol.
You get suspense, love, sadness, and Alpha all in one. I mean, what more could you want!?
Jennifer Stewart lost her husband and decided there was nothing else she could do but start over, find herself again. So she did was she has always wanted to do and that was move to Colorado to be with the bears. HAHA. Love it. After 4 months of being there, she has not only caught every mans attention…well all but the sheriff. That is until they meet at a crime scene. Jennifer was trying to get the story. Jack wasn't having it, and they of course exchanged some words. Hilarious. You could tell from the very beginning these two were going to bump heads, but in a good way. Jennifer however has some creepy admirers. Where Jenn is, drama is to follow. Not a boring annoying kind of drama either, it's suspenseful and oh so entertaining. :)
I could keep going on about how much I loved this read, however I won't keep you any longer. Just know that you should DEFINITELY READ THIS BOOK!
I rate A Reason To Breathe 5+ stars! I'd absolutely give it more if I could. This has to be my top read so far this year. <3 <3 <3
Excerpt:
Jack had been slowly moving towards me during our conversation and by the time I finished my statement, he was looking down at me. Without warning, he picked me up and deposited me on the countertop, so I was even with his face. He pushed in, so I had to open my legs, then he grabbed my ass and pulled me against his hips, and I sucked in a breath at having his crotch up against my heat.
“You scared of me?” he whispered, looking into my eyes.
“Yes,” barely came out, but I nodded with the word.
“Let’s see if we can change that?”
And just like the last three times he kissed me, I didn’t stand a chance. He went slower this time; keeping his eyes locked on mine as he lowered his head infinitesimally, and my heartbeat picked up. Right before his lips touched mine, he smiled, and then his eyes lowered to my lips and he leaned in, and then nipped my bottom lip. I moaned as the shock of it went straight through me like an electrical current. Jack’s eyes darkened at my reaction, and he whispered, “Jesus.” I didn’t need any more prompting; I threw my hands in his hair, wrapped my legs around his waist and went straight for his mouth. His hand grabbed my hair, and he pulled, holding me back. He looked down at me with a face full of need, and I felt that run through me and up the amps of electrical current coursing through me. Jack moved to my exposed neck and kissed his was up to my ear, and then nipped my lobe. I shuddered, and he growled in my ear, “You like my teeth?”
“Please,” came from my mouth even though I’d never been bitten, the evidence pulsing between my legs suggested that I did, in fact, like his teeth. Nipping and biting his way down my neck, I was a trembling mess when he came back to my mouth. “Jack—” was all I got out when he slammed his mouth over mine.
