From the couture clothes, private jets and homes around the globe, I have the best of everything. But looks can be deceiving, and in my family, deception is an art form. So, I bide my time and count the days until I’m free.
Heiress Christina Harcourt lives a life surrounded by the finest this world has to offer. Unfortunately, what she wants most can’t be bought. After losing her mother in a heinous crime, she tries her best to live the life she knows her mother would want for her. But through her family’s hurtful ways, Christina learns the only way to do that, is to leave this life far behind. Everything is going as planned, until she meets him.
Sexy, carefree CJ Whitford is a hard-working, blue collar guy who can’t get the guarded brunette out of his head. So, he takes a chance and rearranges his life to go after the girl he’s falling for. He quickly discovers that Christina’s secrets are as big as her heart. A heart so fragile that all it will take to destroy it is one more lie … his.

My Review:
Where do I even begin? For this being Bentley's debut, I'm in awe. She did a fabulous job. It's one of those reads that once you're through, you have to sit and sort through all the emotions. From the very beginning Bentley draws you in. Literally, within the first few chapters I found myself lost in it. Pretty soon I was completely consumed. It's a page turner for sure.
Characters. There were some that I loved for obvious reasons, and then there were some that I just wanted to back hand. Christina of course was great, at times she frustrated me...but I had to remember the upbringing she had, and the tragedy she went through as a child. She let her past define who she was, and I wasn't always a fan of that. Throughout though you get a glimpse of her sorting through things, and in the end finding herself. Which is an amazing thing to witness. CJ, now he's amazing. From the very beginning I absolutely loved his character. Though out the story, I did have some conflict with him, but he always ended up coming out on top with me. He's a gentleman through and through. ;)
Christina's so called bestie Becca was atrocious. One of those people that think they are defined by the money their parents have. She didn't care about anyone but herself, and constantly her actions made that perfectly clear. She didn't care about anyone but herself. She is one of the characters I would of loved to backhand.
Christina's dad and grandmother. Lawdy. I just can't with them. If you give this book a read, which I think you should ;) you'll completely understand what I mean.
There was always something happening, so you certainly won't be bored. Towards the end though, I was like "What!!!??" I even think my jaw might of hit the floor. I can't help but feel for Christina. At the end of the day, all she ever wanted was to feel loved and wanted. For someone to show that they cared as much as she did. Her heart is pure and I admire her.
Bravo Bentley! I look forward to reading your future work.
I give Beautiful Lies 5 STARS.
