A Day in the Life

A Day in the Life

Me & My Husband Matt <3
Known him 8 years. Together for 5 and Married for 4.

A day in the life of me! Not so interesting I know, just bare with me. At this very moment it's 12:49 AM. What am I doing up still you might ask, well laundry. Yep, I'm up doing the dreaded laundry. See I put my husbands uniform in the washer, but didn't start it because I was going to get a shower. (This was at 9 PM mind you haha) I was going to start it once I got out, however exhaustion took over. So I wake up at around 12:20 with a cough due to a sore throat. When I jumped out of bed in a panic thinking "Ahh I didn't get his clothes in the dryer!" I open the washer and pull the clothes out and think "why are they dry?" I guess the oxyclean now all over my feet wasn't answer enough for me. *sigh* a minute or so later it finally hits me...I know I know lol. So I start the washer, now I have to wait for it to be done. You ever notice how long the damn thing takes when your actually waiting for it to end? My husband will be up at 4:20 AM which I usually see him off, unless I'm in a coma brought on by my lovely pain meds. In which I usually wake up wondering where he had gone haha. (Pain meds are for my oh so lovely constant back pain. You see this 25 yr old has arthritis in her back and two of my 5 lower disks are thinning out. So I have spasms and such) Just wanted to explain so you don't think I'm some druggie. Anyways where was I? Oh right, once my husband leaves for work I take up the whole bed and fall back asleep until 0615 when my annoying alarm goes off.

5 1/2 & 4ft1

I get dressed and then wake my oldest up (Rylan he's 5 1/2) I make sure he gets his breakfast whether it's cereal, toast, or scrambled eggs. He brushes his teeth and gets dressed for his day of school. If my other two kids wake up, which they normally do (who needs sleep?) I pack Rylan's lunch, brew a pot of coffee, make sure all his homework is done and in the folder in his backpack. At 0730 I'm walking out the front door taking him to the bus stop. UGH do I dread that damn bus stop. It's like herding cattle, kids are pushing and shoving. The parents will just stand there giving you dirty looks. Psh they act like their shit don't stink. Anyways the bus usually comes at 7:43, and then I walk back to the house. Once inside I usually hear, "mama I'm hungry." "I want cereal, no eggs, no toast, no ham and cheese with mayo!" Like always I say, " babe, let mommy have a cup of coffee first and then I'll see what I can come up with." That usually gets some whining, which turns into them digging all in the toy box to find a toy. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse gets put on the TV. I get breakfast started for My middle and youngest. (Jason is 4 and Noelle is almost 19 months) After breakfast I clean up the mess as well as the dishes my husband leaves in the sink before he goes to work. I unload the dishwasher. If I have laundry to do (which is always in a house of 5) I'll get laundry going and get the rest of my cleaning done. In the meantime I'm taking breaks to play with the kids, read to them, help them with their letters. Take them outside for a bike ride etc. At 2:30 PM I head towards the bus stop to get Rylan off the bus. Once he's home I go through his folder to see his HW for the day and any news his teacher might of added. I ask him about his day, and then he runs away from me usually and goes to playing. Noelle usually goes down for her nap. The kids get a snack.

4yrs old

Around 4:50 I start to get dinner going unless I have it already in the crock pot. I use to base dinner
around my husband's schedule, but he works some insane hours so I had to stop. We're usually eating dinner by 5:30-6:00 PM. After dinner I clean up all the dishes. The kids get their baths and Rylan gets his shower. We go downstairs to have relax time (Rylan has to take a sleeping pill before bed since his ADHD makes him not want to sleep at all.) During relax time we read books. 7:30-8:00 PM is bedtime. Usually in this time my husband comes home and heats up his plate. So once the kids are in bed I wash the dishes he used, gather up his dirty work clothes and get them washed for the next day. Everyday is different. I have many challenges, but I always get through with all my hair still intact. Oh and in all this crazy mess of being a mother I find time to Blog, Pimp out "A Beautiful Mess" for the amazing T.k. Leigh <3 I'm on her street team. I answer emails from authors and get everything gathered up for cover reveals etc. I read ARCs and do reviews. Sometimes I don't have time to do it all, but I at least try.
