When a new danger arises to test the residents of Whitestone Manor, it falls on me to eliminate the problem. I thought I didn’t need my family’s help. I thought I could protect the ones I loved. Until I realized, not all who seem harmless truly are.

Loving the seemingly angelic girl I was forbidden to date certainly isn’t innocent.

< My Review >

First off I feel it's only fair to say that I have received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. In no way shape or form does that mean I will blow smoke up your a$$ because of it. NO, I will give you my HONEST review. :) 

So let's get started. I LOVED it. There are certain things you expect when reading a series, and I must say they were all covered. There was still suspense, love, grief, anger, etc.  The first book in the series Secrets of Whitestone Manor wowed me and left me wanting more. So starting Shadows of Whitestone Manor I of course had my questions and they were all answered. Woot, go James!! 

Now characters. Orson I will admit got on my nerves a little bit. He's a super control freak and the kind of man that wants it done his way and by his rules, although the rules don't apply to him. I don't like the way he treated Ellison about a situation you'll read about....BUT I will say with Grayson and his outcome I'm beginning to feel it can be possible. As they say anything is possible. Lilith and Grayson had their hilarious banter. Those two were a hoot. Pierson is still sweet as ever. Grayson is the one in the forefront in this book. Which I LOVED! I wanted to know more about him, and I did. He's certainly a mystery that I loved getting to know. He's got a great heart that one ;) 

Now on the plot itself. If you read the first book you know where it leaves off. WELL... things are a bit uneventful at first. Prater Hahn disappeared and that's perfectly fine, their has been nothing but silence when it came to cults. So, what else to do then get ready for Orson and Lilith's wedding. It's a happy yet bittersweet time. As Uncle Sebastian isn't there to help celebrate, let alone bark off commands. A wedding is the last thing Grayson wants to be attending, boredom is taking over. 

Then all the action and suspense starts back up. You'll try and guess who and once you think you figured it all out, something else is brought to the light and you'll be like "WHHHAAATTTT????" Anywho, totally totally loved it. There was just enough to where you learn more about the characters, get more suspense you will be craving, and the urge to want to stalk James in hopes you'll get some info on the next book. 

Once again James has blown me away. It's well written, flows smoothly, and i'm totally wanting more. No doubt about it 5+ stars from me!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 

If you haven't started this series yet, I highly recommend you do.
