I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
I was happily surprised at how much I ended up liking Fake Boobs.
Tori Albert has absolutely no confidence, let alone any life experience. Virgin, never been kissed, etc type of experience. She hides in the shadows hoping to not be noticed, yet at the same time craves for attention. She just wants to feel wanted and loved. To feel beautiful. To her though she is just some ugly girl. She's skinny, no butt, and no boobs. What's so great about her??
One night while her brother had friends over one of them got drunk and snuck into her room. She wanted to so badly to please him, yet she had no idea what she was doing. Grant busted in her room and stopped the situation. A situation he knew she would regret and the drunken guy certainly wouldn't remember in the morning.
Grant is Tori's best friend. He's a great guy, and one that has a crush on Tori. He's seen the woman she has grown into and loves every bit of her...BUT she's his best friend's little sister so he can't go there. Can he??
Tori confesses some things to Grant, and Grant can't believe his ears. How can this beautiful innocent woman think these things about herself? One thing leads to another and Tori ends up getting her heart broken. Grant leaves. He disappears. Without a word to anyone.
Years later Tori is woman with her hair dyed, damaged for the most part from all the product. A face caked in makeup, and HUGE fake boobs. Grant sees her and has to do a double take. This can't be the same woman. This fake woman looks nothing like the beautiful woman he use to know.
In the end it all comes down to the truth. The truth on why Grant left, why Tori felt she had to become some fake person, who deep down isn't even happy.
It was really a great story. One that to be honest is exactly how a lot of women now a days feel they have to become. Just be yourself and be comfortable in your own skin. You're beautiful no matter what you look like. :)
