A tale as old as time—a girl, tall and wispy, hair the color of the sun, eyes as blue as the sky, caught in a love triangle with the noblest of men…Not in this book, honey!
Okay so maybe I am caught up in a love triangle, but I’m sure as hell not running through a field of daisies in a sun dress. My name is Elizabeth and I’ve managed to avoid men for most of my life. I wasn’t a nun by any means, but I know what the hot guys want—and it usually isn’t me. How I got myself involved in a love triangle with one sexy photographer and a millionaire bachelor, who had women worshiping the ground he walked on, is beyond me. Yet, here I am, attempting to navigate waters that I’ve never expected to. Trying to figure out which man was right for me, dealing with my family—and have I told you about the paparazzi? Well, it’s all really making me rethink the situation. Who do I trust? Who’s being genuine? What should I do if both men are perfect for me in different ways? How the hell am I supposed to choose just one? Or better yet do I have to choose just one?
~ MY REVIEW ~
First off I would like to point out that I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. How gorgeous is that cover?? I'm in love with it, and can't wait to add a copy to my bookshelf.
This book is so relatable. We all have insecurities about ourselves, and with Elizabeth she's insecure about the fact she's a size 12. To her she's just frumpy and nothing special. So when a sexy photographer & billionaire bachelor start giving her attention she can't believe it. That doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy every second of it all. Simon is super sweet and beyond easy to talk to, time just flies. However with Spencer there is so much electricity you could power all of New York City! She can sense when Spencer is in the same room. So does she go for the guy that's safe? Or does she take a chance on getting her heart hurt by the guy she shouldn't have a time of day with? From the moment she met them both, her life was never the same.
Now what did I love about Torn Hearts? I loved the fact it is so relatable to a lot of the insecurities we feel ourselves. It grips you from the very beginning, and you'll be left turning page after page trying to figure out what will happen next. There is the perfect amount of angst, romance, sexy time, suspense, & comedy. It's a great and easy read. For this being Gordon's first book, I have to say BRAVO! You did a phenomenal job, and I look forward to reading more of your work.
Now characters. The main lady Elizabeth I will admit frustrated me at times, but for the most part I loved her. Her brothers Teddy and Charles were great. I loved how protective and real they were. Reminded me a lot of my older brother. :) Spencer was swoon worthy. Simon on the other hand as sweet as he was, there was just something about him that had me questioning his motives at every turn. Her best friend Gia was great, and reminded me a lot of my best friend. Which is always a plus.
So overall I have to say I give it 5+ stars
Pick up your copy today, and give it a read.
